Region Spain, Rioja
Grape Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano
Style Cherry compote, Clove, Tobacco
Bottle Size 75cl
This is super traditional style Rioja. Matured in american oak for 12 months before some now 9 years in bottle, this little number shows Intense strawberry, blackberry and vanilla aromas with creamy blueberry and tobacco note.
This is smooth as velvet, and while it has discernable oak, being a crianza, it's not overpowered by it.
You don't usually see wines with a good amount of age at this sort of pricepoint, so if you're wanting to try an aged wine then this is a super accessible entry, and if you love it then have a look at Urbina's 2004 Gran Reserva for even more age.
