Pauline and Géraud have been making wine since 2006 after they met studying winemaking in Dijon and created Domaine des Marnes Blanches when they returned to the Jura in 2006. Farming only a small collection of 16ha of vineyards, covering local grapes Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau alongside chardonnay and Pinot Noir, they work entirely organically.
This is their whole-bunch (stems included) Pinot Noir that undergoes semi-carbonic maceration (a technique that's commonly used in Beaujolais to emphasise the fruitiness) for 10 days before ageing in old Burgundy barrels and bottling without SO2.
Very light in colour, this is mad juicy, fresh and popping with intense light red fruit and a little rhubarb, with fresh herbs and wet leaves. Like having summer fruits sitting in the forest.
