This wine comes from an enchanting forest vineyard of "La Baixada de les Bruixes" meaning the witches path, within the Foix nature reserve in the Baix Penedes region of Spain. Old bush vines (literally like a bush, to protect them from the harsh Spanish sun) dig deep in the poor soil creating a rich and concentrated juice.
Xarel-Lo fermented on the skins 2 weeks in harvest vats before being blended with direct press Parellada, then aged in clay amphora for a further 6 months before bottling.
The nose is rich and reductive (fresh, not oxidised) with a supremely savoury finish reminiscent of a smoother fino sherry kind of vibe.
