Late Bottled VIntage Port means ruby port using grapes from a single vintage, ageing them in barrel and bottle for 4 - 6 years before releasing them onto the market ready to drink. This means you get some of the fantastic quality of a vintage port from an excellent year, without the cost or having to wait a couple of decades to be drinkable!
Niepoort is the cool side of Port. They're forward thinking (they make lots of experimental non fortified wines) while still being traditional. This LBV'15 is brimming with warm spices and rich figgy, cherry like fruit, ending in a nice chewy tannic finish. Fantastically elegant for a wine that can be a bit much sometimes.
