100% Syrah from the superstar of Cornas. Granit 30 is from vines of 30yrs old, toward the bottom of the slope of the vineyard at around 30°.
It's typically Rhone, big and fruit driven with a black pepper edge to the finish. This is the younger brother to Granit 60, and as such more accessible in its youth - though if you can hold on for a few more years it'll thank you for sure.
I first had the '16 vintage of this on a long lunch a few days after Christmas with my brother who, due to living abroad, I see very little. It may have been the company, the setting, or the other bottles we drank. But I was positively floating drinking this with confit duck and lentils. I suggest you do the same.
