Domaine Dupré Goujon
Brand new dream-team in one of our favourite French regions, Beaujolais, these school friends Sebastien Dupré and Guillaume Goujon grew up here and have had their domaine since 2015.
The talent is really showing in these wines which are incredible expressions of fruit purity, slick winemaking and extending ageing gives density and elegance. An agroforestry approach has earned their organic certification to include the 2021 vintage and they are undergoing biodynamic certification.
We are presenting La Démarante in the 2020 vintage, which is a delicate, fresh, floral Beaujolais, dotted with notes of peony, strawberry coulis and finesse. A cuvée made in the pure regional tradition, sulphur-free semi-carbonic maceration followed by an indigenous yeast ferment. It then spends 6 short months of ageing in concrete vats, then an unfiltered bottling with a low quantity of sulphur.
The 6.3.1 represents the blend proportions of the three terroirs on their site. The 2019 vintage has spent 12 months in oak and 12 months in vats. This harmonious and elegant wine offers a more generous framework with bright, crunchy fruit complemented by fine and precise tannins.
The lieu-dit "l'Héronde" is east-facing and has a Blue metamorphic diorite soil structure. 24 months ageing with 12 months in barrels and demi-muids. The 2019 maintains fruit precision topped with a savoury, meaty character.
