Château Lagrange
Brother and sister duo, Olivier and Laure Lacoste, who took over their family vineyards just 4 years ago and have converted it to Biodynamic farming. The estate is made up of 9 ha of white Sauvignon blanc, Sémillon, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon.
As with many Bordeaux producers, they have slowed down on the oak and started using amphorae in the winery, which provides the wines with more freshness and fruit definition. The labels are designed by a selection of friends, giving them an eclectic inconsistence.
The Pet Nat and Rose are both direct press Merlot. The White is 100% Semillon and ideal with oysters. Bottled in a clear Bordeaux bottle with a green wax seal. As the name suggests “La petite Merle” (the little blackbird) is Merlot dominant and comes in Burgundy bottles.
Cadillac-Côtes de Bordeaux (AKA) is a blend of 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Matured for 12 months insteel, oak and amphora, before bottling in Bordeaux bottles. The cuvee Felix is aged for 18 months in amphora and bottled in clay bottles with a yellow wax seal.
